SUMMARY:After School Programming - second edition
DESCRIPTION:We have been giving after school programming courses to girls between 10 and 12 years old at the primary school in Kilchberg! As it has been a great success we are now continuing with new students in the spring semester of 2024! \n\n\n\nHow is GirlsCodeToo involved? \n\n\n\nWe started course with an introduction to programming\, using ImagiCharm Keychains. Following the basics of programming taught at the start\, the students created their own pixelated designs in Python. The ImagiCharm Keychains are used to display the coded designs and see live how changing code lines on a computer directly changes the output. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the Robotics part of the course\, we made an introduction about technology\, mechanics and robotics\, before moving on to the important part: programming the robots! We used the Lego Mindstorms’ robots\, which we can program in Python. In just a few hours students could make them drive at various speeds\, turn\, avoid obstacles\, pick up things and a combination of all these commands in playful challenges! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore info
