Learn how to code at Aity Bern

Curriculum: imagiCharm, Sphero Robots, Web Desgign or AI

In collaboration with aity Bern, we are organizing a series of workshops to introduce girls to the exciting world of programming 👩‍💻✨. Three 3-day workshop blocks will take place during the 2026 fall semester.

The three workshops build on each other, giving participants the opportunity to explore programming, develop their skills, and work on creative digital projects .👩‍💻

During the first afternoon of each block, the girls can vote on which curriculum they would like to explore. They can choose between creating dynamic pixel art with an imagiCharm keychain, programming a Sphero robot to navigate a course, learning how to design their own website, or exploring the world of artificial intelligence 🤖.

With the imagiCharm keychain, participants create their own pixel designs by coding in Python and see their creations come to life on the keychain’s light-up display 🎨. With the Sphero robots, they put their programming skills to the test by designing increasingly complex obstacle courses for their robots to navigate 🚀.

In the web design curriculum, students learn how to create their own websites through hands-on tutorials in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 🌐. While in the AI curriculum, they discover how artificial intelligence works, experiment with AI concepts, and discuss its applications and impact on our everyday lives 🧠.
